He hated parties. Granted, he wasn’t in a house full of strangers at this particular New Year’s Eve celebration; it was mostly family and friends from the town he’d grown up in. Still, he felt uncomfortable with so many people in the same place, and his confidence had been shattered when his own father told him to behave and guide him how to behave like a pure khurana blood. Every time, every single day he was reminded how fortunate he was by getting birth in such a prestigious family of the country or else he have no quality of standing there with them.

This lecture become more venomous when ever Samarth through party to show off the talent of his lovable elder son Ankush. His second child Maan Singh Khurana was his target then and he start comparing both. In which Maan only got scold and venomous words from his father.

At every step Ankush beat him and become his father’s favorite. Even in small small things they got compared and Maan only got defeat from his elder brother. His no habit made his family happy, specially his father.

“Why Maan? Can’t you see me happy for a single second?” He whispered while sipping from his glass. “What rubbish dress you wear for my party? Ha? I special send a black suit for you and what…?” He gritted his teeth in anger.

Maan smirked in such a arrogant way, as he got a satisfaction of making his father annoyed. Samarth held his forearm. “Dare you show me this arrogant behavior of yours.”

“Why you so much bother because of my outfit dad. Go to your favorite son. See he is coming in the dress you choose for him. Go to him. Why wasting your precious time on me.” Maan snapped briskly.

“Shut up. Now go and change this down market clothes of yours.” He jerked him and walked away from there.

“I don’t care.” Maan whispered in mouth and flip his drink in a go.

“What is this Maan? You still haven’t change. Go before your dad saw you in this.” A soft voice cautioned him. A very elegant woman in black saree was stood behind him. She came forward. “Son don’t you hear me.” Maan looked everywhere but not at his mother Arpita Khurana.

“Son I am taking to you.” She too got angry with him.

“Mom you are late. He already shoot me with his words.” Maan said in flat voice.

“Gosh. Maan for god sake grow up now. You are not kid any more. What you get by pissing off us at every step.”

“Leave it mom. Please.” he’d escaped to the kitchen once the food and drinks were out, relieved when he’d found it empty. Maan needed a minute to lick his wounds and recover from his parents blunt assessment of his attire.

“Bloody hell. Why I born here. All are jerks around me.” He said and cursed his fate from throwing him in this family where all only love his elder brother and forced him to be like him. Like his shadow and this made him hate his brother more.

Even in office he only got those projects which Ankush doesn’t found interested.

Guests started to filled the place and his family got lost with guests, forgetting about him completely. Maan thought to leave the party as none much bother about his presence, when the tall, elegant girl sashayed down into the party hall and he bumped into her. Everything about her was sophisticated, from her wide-tailored dove gray trousers and cream silk camisole, to the stylish earrings. Her dark hair was pulled back sleekly in a high-fashion ponytail that accentuated her sharp bone structure. She looked like a model.

“You idiot.” She yelled in annoyed voice at him.

“Excuse me. Miss you bumped on me.” He blamed her for their clash.

“Shut up you idiot.” She wants to argue but someone called her and she gave him a sharp glare before leaving.

“Geet come here.” She walked away and Maan left the party.

Geet come here my beautiful daughter.” Her father called him near and she reached to him. “Samarth meet my daughter Geet. She just arrived from London. Her father introduced her to his business friend Samarth Khurana.

“Hello.”, She greets him.

Hello Geet. So what the plan now?” He asked formally.

“I wanna join dad.” She told him.

“Great.” He felt happy and introduced her with Ankush.

“Hello Geet.” He smiled and took her hand, but instead of shaking it he brought it to his lips in an old-fashioned gesture that she found charming.

“Shall we?” Ankush took her away and both start talking like an old friends.

“Have you seen Samarth?” Rudr Pratap Handa asked while seeing their kids mingling so well.

“Don’t you think it’s so early to decide this?” Samarth asked while smile played on his perfect shaped lips.

“I know my daughter. She is very choosy and if she decides to talk this long it means she likes him.” Rudr said confidently.

“What’s going on here?” Their better halves joined them and asked about the agenda they were discussing.

Samarth told them. “Well I found this one a very good idea. By this way our families come more closer and it will be beneficial for our business too.” Arpita shared her view and Avantika got agree with her statement.

“See Rudr Ankush is leaving tomorrow for business trip for 15 days. So we can discuss it after that. What say?”

“Sure…” He got agree and they start talking about their business life.
